Who Doesn't Love a Good Bargain?! (pt. 2)

Hi guys :)) The above pic is a collection of current MAC lipsticks from my recent Cosmetics Company Outlet MAC mini-haul. As you know, I've been spending some time in PA, so whenever I'm there, I go on a makeup shopping binge at this amazing discount cosmetics store. The CCO carries many luxury brands including MAC, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, etc. and is usually stocked with discontinued or overstocked products. Every now and then, however, the outlet gets a shipment of current, highly sought-after items, such as Impassioned lipstick--I can't tell you how many times it's been sold out at my local MAC counter--and now, I CAN FINALLY CALL MYSELF A PROUD OWNER!!! YES!!! Anyway, I really feel like I made out like a makeup bandit, so I had to share this proud moment with you guys :))

P. S. I've blogged about the CCO before, but this is the first time I discovered items that are so current and in-demand. So, if you live in the States and have been looking for some Violetta or Impassioned, now you know where to go :))

Signature Liner, Go-to Nude Lips

Bonjour mes amis!! Today's post is showcasing a simple makeup look centered around creative eyeliner and nude lips. This maquillage may not be for every day, but it's not super dramatic either, so it's more of a concept, rather than an actual ready-to-wear look. As you know, I love to use my face as a canvas for makeup art, so this look is a work in progress :)) I'm trying to come up with my signature masterpiece haha... stay tuned!!

Nail Art Avant-Garde

Hi guys :)) Today's post is a quick nail art and a pictorial tutorial through instagram and frametastic photos. This nail design is a bit personal to me; I was inspired by Russian Avant-Garde Art (I'm on this whole Russian kick lately), and I wanted to create something that would be pleasing to my eye and personal taste. I hope you enjoy my take on this contemporary style as much as I was inspired by these thought-provoking abstract works.

P. S. I'm out of the state once again, so my photos are low-res iphone quality at best... womp womp... I tried my best to jazz them up with cool frames and funky filters, I hope it suffices :))

Today, January 10th, marks the 1 year anniversary of this blog, 'Fix Your Face' by Maryam Maquillage!!! As much as I am proud of my baby, I'm mostly really grateful to all of you, my readers, for the overwhelming amount of love you've given me and my blog. Your continued support fuels my drive to deliver post after post, and I promise to keep going, keep bettering, and keep serving near-daily doses of maquillage posts, nail art and other beauty related topics.

My post for the day is a long one, so brace yourself, I've got a lot to cover... As mentioned earlier, I'm introducing a new topic for 2012--HAIR and everything that relates to it--so today's post is a kick-off :)) I'll be reviewing a set of extensions (oo-la-laa) and giving a quick tutorial on how to achieve the BIG, bouncy curls. In addition, I'm including a fun going-out makeup look, paying homage to the Look That Inspired the Blog (my very first blog post) with one party-perfect Schiap lipstick, you know the one... cuz it is a celebration after all, y'all :))

Bonjour mes belles!!

In today's post, I'm featuring a wearable, every day makeup and nails ensemble perfect for any occasion: work, school, weekend, whatever. I wear neutrals more often than I wear brights, so I wanted to showcase a few tiny nuances that take classic makeup and manicures from boring to special. Here's a preview:

A la Russe

Дорогие Друзья!! (Dear Friends!!)

Today's special post is dedicated to my family, friends, and fellow beauty lovers from all over the world. A couple of weeks ago I was very lucky to win a makeup giveaway from the awesome Alx of thisisalx.blogspot.com, and thought what better way to show my appreciation than to do a look using all the products. My package was sent from Canada and although we're neighbors, Alx is still one of my international friends. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you know I'm all about different cultures, languages, etc., so today's look is culture-inspired to celebrate my readers across the globe. Before I tell you what my look is, can you guess from the picture which culture I'm portraying?

Ball-Droppin' New Years Makeup!

Salut mes amis!!

If you can't tell by my "clever" post title, today's look is another makeup idea for New Years 2012 :)) In this post, I'm presenting a sleek cat eye cut-crease look that may seem tricky at first glance, but it's actually quite easy to recreate! This eye makeup appealed to me particularly because it looks as though it took a lot of time and effort, when in fact, it took no longer than your average smokey eye! I'm adding another easy step-by-step tutorial so that anyone can follow along and duplicate this one. So, check out this look if you're ready to stand out of the crowd when that ball drops!! Are you ready for New Years or what??!!!

Wintry for Hanukkah :)

Shalom my friends :))

Celebrating the second day of Hanukkah, I have a simple wintry makeup look inspired by the blue and white color combination of this wonderful Jewish holiday. As you know, I'm someone who celebrates it all... Not only am I a person of mixed background, but I am also a New Yorker who embraces all things culture related, hence I celebrate Xmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Years and more--bring it on!!! I love the festivities :)))

Casually Festive :)

Salut mes belles :)

I'm back with another quick and easy holidays themed makeup look. I've been spending this past week out of state visiting with my extended fam, so my past few posts were prepared ahead of time, except for today's, which is literally the makeup I've been wearing for the "family holidays" occasion. Whenever I travel on short trips, my makeup essentials include solely the Urban Decay NAKED palette, my mineral foundation, concealer, liner, mascara, some blush and one or two lipsticks. Hence, this is the fanciest look I could come up with using my very limited travel kit and wardrobe attire. Luckily, I'm in Pennsylvania aka vintage / antiques haven, so I got to dress up my plaid flannel shirt with some funky wooden 80's earrings I snatched for $1. Yay for casually festive :))
