Winter Makeup & Fashion: The Snow Queen

Hey dolls! Happy Friday! The winter season is here and as many of you know, I absolutely despise the cold and usually never care much for winter fashion or beauty. I am one of those true home-bodies during the winter weather and would happily hibernate for 3 months straight if I had the option. This year, however, my January is busier than ever before, and I don't have the liberty to stay at home like I used to. Plus, I'm older and have a ton more responsibilities to take care of, so a girl's gotta do what a girl's got to do lol... As always, I'm heavily inspired by my environment, so instead of sulking and whining about the cold, I've chosen to embrace it and dress it up -- winter bunny style!! Today's makeup and fashion post is inspired by the flurries, the ice queens, and the snow divas that make it work no matter the season!

It's been a tremendous year for me work-wise and I'm really excited to be spending the next few days with my extended family and taking a much needed mini-vacation. In honor of Thanksgiving, I've put together this festive makeup and nail art look using all Motives makeup and nail polishes. I've incorporated lots of fall colors, including rich reds, shimmering greens and warm golden tones. I hope you like this one and get to try it out for yourself. Happy Holidays!!!

I'm also including an "outfit of the day" to show you how I paired this vibrant makeup with my wardrobe.

"Wintry Exotic" Arabic Makeup Tutorial

Hi beauties!! The winter holidays are over, but the season is only beginning to unfold. Today, I'm inspired by Arabic makeup and I'm re-interpreting it using cool, frosty shadows and luscious cruelty-free mink lashes to fit the winter theme. Arabic makeup is truly one of my all-time favorite styles for any occasion -- it's always graphic, bold, edgy and so exotic!! My version of this look is using neutral pigments and shadows from Motives Cosmetics, as well as incorporating pieces from new jewelry lines and my new fave lashes.

Beyonce "Fire & Ice" Transformation Makeup

Hello my beauties & Happy New Year!! I'm back with my first post of 2014 and this pretty one's self-explanatory. I aimed for something fun, different and costume-y, so I went ahead and re-created Beyonce's features and makeup worn to her recent album release party using my fave brands like Makeup Geek, Motives Cosmetics and Too Faced. I also experimented with some hair extensions to change up my look and try something radically different. It's been a while since my last avant garde look or transformational makeup, so I decided to ring in the new year by bringing back one of my most beloved challenges: celeb transformation makeup. This look was created for a costume party and mainly just for fun, simply because it's a new year and I'm going for it!!! Wishing you guys all the best in 2014!!

"Glam Green Glitter" Holiday Makeup

Salut mes belles!! Christmas is right around the corner, so today's look is once again reflective of the holiday spirit using green as the quintessential color of Xmas. If you know me and have been following my blog for a while, then you know that green in not typical in my color palette and I only embrace it on special occasions. Today is that day and I'm wearing green proudly, thanks to Motives Cosmetics whose green glitter is the prettiest I've ever laid my eyes on! For this popular look, I'm mixing up a couple of styles, particularly "East meets West" rocking a celeb-inspired fringe and some gorgeous exotic hand-made earrings from my fave Eastern jewelry line Innaya Couture.

Glitter "Border" Liner for the Holidays!

Hello beauties!! The holidays are approaching faster than ever this year, and I'm whipping out my glitter pots & liners in anticipation. Today, I'm bringing back my "Border" liner from last year aka a creative eyeliner look that utilizes an outline technique. This look is super edgy and does require a bit of practice and a steady hand, however, it is easier than a smokey eye and more unique than a glitter shadow look. I hope you try it for yourself and see what I mean!

Fit for a Queen: Exotic Makeup & Headpiece

Hello beauties! It's Tutorial-Tuesday on my blog, but I've got much more to share. Today's exotic look was inspired by the gorgeous turquoise headpiece from my favorite Eastern jewelry line Innaya Couture and put together using all Motives Cosmetics. The beauty of this headpiece surpasses any makeup, so instead of matching the colors and attempting to reproduce the wow-factor of this piece, I re-interpreted the look with glittery jewel tones and Eastern-style cat eye liner. This modern take on Eastern makeup is a fresh complement to traditional jewelry and balances it out in a way that's wearable and approachable.
