Fashion Week Beauty: "Runway to Realway" Lancome for Jason Wu

Salut mes belles! With New York Fashion Week in full glory, today's post is my first "Runway to Realway" makeup adaptation inspired by the gold glitter look showcased at the Jason Wu show on Friday. The look, envisioned by key makeup artist Diane Kendal for Lancome, focused on the dramatic Marlene Dietrich eye shape and heavy-metal rose gold glitter, featuring bronze shadows from the Bronze Amour palette. To bring this runway makeup to the real way, I stayed true to Diane's vision, but kept the shape smaller and more wearable, while still emphasizing the lid with glitter and bronze shadows.

Jason Wu #NYFW Makeup Tutorial
  1. Prime the lids with primer and line the top and bottom lash lines using Lancome Le Crayon Kohl in Black Coffee. Extend the wing and trace the eye socket creating a half moon shape. Fill in the outer and inner corners of the shape.
    • TIP: The outer tip of the crease line should end parallel to the outer corner of the eye.
  2. Using Lancome Smudger Brush #24, smudge the pencil inwards and outwards to soften the shape, creating a shadow effect over the center lid. Smudge the lower lash liner.
  3. Using Lancome Precision Shadow Brush #12, apply the gold shadow (center left of palette) to the middle of the lid blending with the bronze shadow (center of palette) on the outer and inner corners. Highlight the inner corner using the pearl shadow (top).
  4. Using Jason Wu for Lancome Artliner in Noir, line the top lash line staying close the lashes and getting in between the lashes.
  5. Apply pro glitter in Gold, Bronze and/or Rose Gold on top of the lid, concentrating on the center.
    • DIANE'S TIP: Wet the brush before dipping into the glitter to avoid fallout.
  6. Curl the lashes using Lancome Le Curler and apply two coats of Hypnose Star Mascara to the top and bottom lashes.
 Voila!
Blush: Lancome Blush Subtil in Cedar Rose
Lips: Lancome Baume in Love in Rose in Love
