Salut friends...

My vacay is over and I find myself sad and melancholy... To brighten up my day, I'm using LA Splash mascara in a beautiful teal on my lower lashes and some black on my top ones. Check it out, let me know what ya think :)) P. S. Keep in mind, my bottom lashes are itty-bitty, so the effect isn't as dramatic as it would be on my top ones, but you can still see it fairly well.

I've had a lovely weekend and I hope you've all enjoyed yours as well. Since I'm still on vacay (for 2 more days), my Monday is looking very bright and I'm eager to make the most of it. My maquillage du jour or makeup of the day is from Friday's jazzy celebration of my bf's bday. I wore this purple look during the day and then applied some more for a slightly heavier eye for the night time. Let me know if you're tired of my purple theme, cuz I seem to have entered a pattern... haha. Hope you're all well and enjoying the holidays that Spring has to offer. Since I'm on vacay this week, every day has been a holiday and I've been using this opportunity to find inspiration for my bloggy. This week, I've been embracing the pastels and spring greens and incorporating these colors into my maquillage, nails, and wardrobe. Today, I want to share with you a makeup look I wore a few days ago that was inspired by none other than blooming spring flowers and I think this look is perfect for Easter! Check it out :))

Welcome to my bloggy, hope you like makeup and stuff ;) Aside from doing makeup looks and cosmetics reviews, I'm also into other beauty related topics such as hair care, nails, accessories and fashion. I haven't yet swayed too far from maquillage, but I'm planning on "diversifying", so please let me know what you'd like to see on here. Having said that, my maquillage du jour is inspired by my Leopard top that I recently bought from H&M... Given that I am from Russia, I love all things leopard, regardless of how tacky they may be. Take that Ilan (my French bff who loathes leopard) Pow!

Today's maquillage features my latest eyeshadow obsession: Honey by Urban Decay. Of course I own the deluxe shadow box palette that it comes in, but I also recently purchased the single shadow because I love it that much! If you're looking for a perfect gold eyeshadow that is not too bronze-y or too yellow, this is your winner! The quality of this product is absolutely incredible... The texture is silky smooth and there's virtually no fallout with these Urban Decay deluxe shadows. I love them, I am totally obsessed with Urban Decay makeup, and am not even paid to say this! (but I wish I was :)

Congratulate me, I'm officially on vacay!!! Though, I'm not on holiday, so I won't be leaving NYC... I'll be sticking around and writing my beauty, makeup and fashion posts like it's a full time job. Looking forward to that, because I'll actually have the time, so let the challenge begin :))

JLo on Idol

Hola amigas y amigos,

Today's post is dedicated to the maquillage of Jennifer Lopez, as observed by moi on American Idol. As some of you may know, I'm a fan of JLo; not necessarily because of her music and movies, but simply because I like her image and her looks. It seems to me that she's one of just a few celebs who's been keeping her plastic surgery to a minimum. I speculate that she's gone under the knife a handful of times (perhaps some botox and fillers), but she's been careful not to let it drastically alter her appearance, so I applaud that. In her industry, she's going about it the right way... and as much as we all may be against it, it's her job to look amazing and defy aging.

As I've been watching Idol, I've been studying JLo's face and taking careful notes aka screen captions of the makeup looks she's worn. Of course, I'll be trying some of these out, so please let me know which ones you like and want to see duplicated. Here are my 10 favorite "Jennifer Lopez on American Idol" makeup looks:

1. Modernized Retro Glam: Sculpted eyes and heavy brows

Since so many of you have told me that you looove makeup tutorials and looks, today's post will be a quickie of one of my favorite go-to everyday makeup looks featuring another cat eye in a wash of metallic lavender eyeshadow. Try it, hope you like it!

The pictures don't do justice to the true pigmentation and sparkle of this Bare Minerals eye shadow in Metallic Lavender... but trust you me, these mineral shadows are potent! You only need a little bit of this product to achieve maximum results! Thanks bestie for this awesome prezzie oxox :)) I loves 'it!

Start off with a primer and add a bit of a sticky base to the lid to act as an adhesive for the sparkly shadow. I like to use NYX jumbo eye pencils for this purpose.

1. With a stiff flat brush, pack on the eyeshadow all over the lid
2. Using a dome brush, blend out the edges. You can use an eyeshadow that is a couple shades darker than your skin
3. Finish the eye look by lining the top lash line and coat the lashes with mascara.

This look was inspired by none other than Christen herself, I wanted to play up her beautiful luscious features with a quick and easy Glam makeup look.

Joyeux Vendredi & Happy Friday :)

Hi friends. It's been a he//ish week and I'm beat... After tough weeks and periods, I like to take one Friday for myself and spend it sans maquillage, rejuvenating through silence, facial masks, regular eating habits and much needed beauty rest. Today, I will be doing just that, as I am in desperate need of recovery. How do you restore yourself from a long week?

In today's post, I'll share with you my makeup of the day as well as my new favorite nail polish that's been making me smile all week :) As a healthy bonus, I'll also show you my quick and yummy pick me up recipe tip for all the foodies out there. Headscarf Comeback?

This pic was sent to me by my cousin in Russia, she claimed to have found a "new" way to wear the headscarf and wanted to make it a trend. Although she was a bit shy to appear on my bloggy, she sent me this pic from which she drew her inspiration, so I could post it. I quite like this look, I think its perfect for transforming a bad hair day into a chic Gossip Girl updo. Maybe we don't have to abandon the headscarf after all...

Hope you haven't been fooled too harshly :)) For today's post, I decided to look up some faux-pas du maquillage worn by our favorite celebs and feature them in honor of April Fool's Day. Since we've all made makeup mistakes, I've chosen celebrities who typically have more makeup hits than misses. I'll go in detail and explain what's wrong with each look and give a few pointers that will help us all avoid making the same errors. If you happen to like these looks, do us all a favor and save them for Halloween please :))
