Summer Inspo: "Park Side Picnic" Makeup & Tutorial

Hello my beauties and Happy Saturday!! What are your summer weekend plans? Are you heading to any garden soirées, picnics in the park or beach side bonfires? Today's look and video tutorial were prepared just for that. I took my go-to makeup look (cat eye + bright lips) and summer-proofed it to fit in with some of the season's most popular outdoor celebrations. This look was inspired by Chloe Wine Pinot Grigio (my favorite for a park-side picnic) and is the second installment of my Chloe Summer Beauty collab with Chloe Wine

Easy Contouring Makeup Tutorial for the Novice

Hi beauties!! NEW video is ready for you and this one is a highly requested, easy, everyday makeup tutorial about approachable Contouring and Highlighting. I get a lot of questions about this hot topic, so I wanted to make a series of videos showcasing various types of techniques, products and approaches to contouring. Depending on our individual bone-structure or features, some of us can benefit from a dramatic, high-contrast contoured look, while others may suffer the adverse effect. Naturally, due to my prominent cheekbones, strong jaw-line and brows, I fall in the ladder category and gain much more from a subtle contoured look. Today, I'm starting with just that: the easiest, one-product contoured look that's perfect for the novice or for those who already have strong features naturally. Let me know your thoughts and questions in the comments section and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel!!! Thank you :)

"Pretty in Pink" Vegas Makeup & Resort Style

Hello my beauties!! It's been a while since my last post due to the production of the Stardust Tour beauty event, which took place this Saturday in Las Vegas. We had the most amazing time and turnout; I'll definitely be posting a thorough recap of the event later this week when I get back home. Currently, I'm still in Vegas, enjoying some down time while my flight is delayed for two days due to the massive winter storm Juno that's fast approaching NY and the tri-state area. I can't say that I'm complaining, nor that I'm not enjoying this sunny Las Vegas weather, so here's a quick post celebrating the beauty of the desert through color, makeup and fashion!

Winter Makeup & Fashion: The Snow Queen

Hey dolls! Happy Friday! The winter season is here and as many of you know, I absolutely despise the cold and usually never care much for winter fashion or beauty. I am one of those true home-bodies during the winter weather and would happily hibernate for 3 months straight if I had the option. This year, however, my January is busier than ever before, and I don't have the liberty to stay at home like I used to. Plus, I'm older and have a ton more responsibilities to take care of, so a girl's gotta do what a girl's got to do lol... As always, I'm heavily inspired by my environment, so instead of sulking and whining about the cold, I've chosen to embrace it and dress it up -- winter bunny style!! Today's makeup and fashion post is inspired by the flurries, the ice queens, and the snow divas that make it work no matter the season!

Mattes 2015: Matte Nails, Matte Makeup

Hello my beauties!! It's my first Mani-Monday of 2015, but I've got lots more lined up for today's post. This season is all about the matte finish, we're seeing lots of matte makeup and nails, velvety-soft skin finishes and smokey eyes, and virtually every brand is coming out with those coveted matte lipsticks that everyone craves. Today, I'm overdosing on the matte trend and wearing it from head to toe (or fingertip) and I've even got a quick matte lip video tutorial for you all. Let me know what you think in the comments section below.

"Jewel Eyes" Creative Liners Makeup Tutorial & VIDEO

Hey beauties! There's a new makeup tutorial on my YouTube channel: Maryam Maquillage and it's all about getting creative with your eyeliners. This video is different from the rest -- for one, because there's no eyeshadows involved in this look -- and I love it for its graphic lines and artistic expression. Try it out for an artsy night on the town: a play, a visit to an art gallery / a museum or anything that requires a creative touch. Hope you like!

Easy Halloween Makeup: the "Fortune Teller"

Hello beauties! Who's ready for Halloween? It's been a busy October for me so far and I haven't had much of a chance to play around with costumes or makeup... This look was something that I came up with as a last minute, quick costume idea for Halloween and I think it turned out quite nice. The best part is that it can be achieved using regular makeup and clothes that you already own, so it eliminates the need for learning special effects techniques and going to the costume shop, not to mention, saves you time and money. I call this look the "Fortune Teller Flapper" and it's my perfect, go-to, last-minute makeup for this year's Halloween. Hope you enjoy and find it useful!

Mint & Purple Smokey + Summer Outfit

Hey beauties!! I'm in the mood for color, and today I'm bringing back one of my favorite color combos, mint + purple, plus a step-by-step tutorial to help you achieve this look. I drew my inspiration from "Peacocky" -- one of the first looks I posted on my blog back in 2011, but I'm reinventing it using Motives Cosmetics and a fresh take on smokey eyes. I'm also including an "outfit of the day" to show you how I paired this vibrant makeup with my wardrobe.

Glitter "Border" Liner for the Holidays!

Hello beauties!! The holidays are approaching faster than ever this year, and I'm whipping out my glitter pots & liners in anticipation. Today, I'm bringing back my "Border" liner from last year aka a creative eyeliner look that utilizes an outline technique. This look is super edgy and does require a bit of practice and a steady hand, however, it is easier than a smokey eye and more unique than a glitter shadow look. I hope you try it for yourself and see what I mean!

Wine 4 my Valentine

Salut mes amis!! I'm raising a glass of Bourgogne to all of you for sticking by me during my blog blizzard. I'm back with an actual makeup post, Valentine's Day appropriate, and I want to ask you to update your bookmarks and links with my new site: www.MaryamMaquillage.com. There are still a few technical kinks that I have to work out, some of you are telling me that you're unable to see my updates in the blogger dashboard--while others can--so I'll get that fixed as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you're having trouble getting my updates, you can follow me on Bloglovin'--it seems to be working just fine. Also, I always post my updates on Facebook & Twitter, so please join me there, if you haven't already. Now, on to my Valentine's Day maquillage du jour!

Ball-Droppin' New Years Makeup!

Salut mes amis!!

If you can't tell by my "clever" post title, today's look is another makeup idea for New Years 2012 :)) In this post, I'm presenting a sleek cat eye cut-crease look that may seem tricky at first glance, but it's actually quite easy to recreate! This eye makeup appealed to me particularly because it looks as though it took a lot of time and effort, when in fact, it took no longer than your average smokey eye! I'm adding another easy step-by-step tutorial so that anyone can follow along and duplicate this one. So, check out this look if you're ready to stand out of the crowd when that ball drops!! Are you ready for New Years or what??!!!

Eartha Woods

Hello Lazy Monday...

I'm feeling very earthy today and what better way to bring this feeling to life than with rich earth tone eyeshadows, natural disheveled hair, and funky-chunky wooden & leather jewelry. This is how Maryam Maquillage does it, "Eartha Woods" style ;)))

small eyes BIGGER ʘ‿ʘ

Bonjour cheries!!!

Hope you're finding yourselves happy and healthy on this gloomy Monday! Sorry for my brief hiatus, I started a new summer schedule and had to implement some different time management strategies. It's all good, I'm back and I've got lots of cool beauty stories to share. I say "cool" because last week has been a sauna up in NYC, and I had to find new ways of wearing makeup while keeping it "cool" in the heat wave. I don't know about you, but as much as I love bright maquillage, there's just no room for it in the summer oven... it all just melts, runs, and leaves me feeling like a sad clown. Don't get me wrong, if I really need my makeup to stay, I'll spray some Fix + and off I go. However, I think you'll all agree that in the summer months, it is better to let our skin breathe instead of clogging the pores with fix sprays and such. So, how do we maximize our features and appearance while steering clear of heavy cosmetic products?

Let's focus on one (or two) features at a time. Today's post is dedicated to the eyes, and I'm going to share with you my makeup trick to creating the appearance of larger eyes without the help of eyeshadows. So, let's make our small eyes BIGGER ʘ‿ʘ yaaayyy!!!

The Bananaberry

Salut mes amis!!!

Thank you so much for the love on my previous post, I'm so glad you all approve of my new bangs. Having said that, today's post is sans bangs, featuring a makeup look I wore last week, pre-haircut. I wanted to do something different from my usual purple and teal looks, and also wanted to keep the maquillage simple and wearable, in case any of you might want to try it. I used just two eyeshadow colors--yellow and pink for a cute look called Bananaberry (a name I just made up), paired it with a barely there lip and the rest is history!!!
