My Favorite Person Ever!

My Babushka (grandma) is the greatest. Tougher than a Soviet tank and sharper than a scalpel, my Ba always tells it how it is and takes no BS from anyone. She loves to fatten me up every time I visit for the summer and always makes sure the cellar is filled to capacity with her home made wine. Yes, she makes her own wine (see pic). My Babushka thoroughly enjoys a good girl gossip over a few beers and is famous for her solid, fail-proof advice. I wish I could see my Babushka more often, but she is very far away in Southern Russia... I woke up missing her very much and decided that I will do everything in my power to see my favorite person this summer!! So, I'm putting it in writing... right here, on my blog :))

Spring Bling Nails!

Salut mes amis! It's been a while since my last nail post and today I'm back with a cheerful new spring mani designed for shorter, squared nails. I've recently discovered Milani Jewel FX nail polishes -- you know the ones with the big, chunky glitters (pictured above on my thumb) and I've been totally head over heels! Actually, the reason I haven't posted nail stuff is because I've only been wearing these glitter polishes and I generally don't post solid color nails. Anyway, this week's nail creation is glittery, fun, bright and has a slight design element, which is exactly how I like it! Hope you do too :)))

Happy Bday Mr. Maquillage!!

Hello old friends and new!! Today's post is a snippet of my personal non-blogging life, introducing my beau: my BDAY boy LeeLee!! This week was hectic as Lee's best friend and I were very busy planning his surprise. My blog, in turn, went into hibernation mode and with no beauty material to share, I figured it was time to meet the man behind Maryam Maquillage!!! No one does more for this blog than my LeeLee; he is the brains behind the operation, the muscle, if you will :))) Not to mention, he's also my photographer and photo editor. Notice the photo credits at the end of my bigger blog posts :)) Yup, that's my Le Var!! So, on Sunday we celebrated... ooooh we shhelebrated LeeLee's hallmark birthday with unlimited mimosas, bellinis, and red & white sangria at a poppin' NYC brunch spot. Surpriiiiise!!!

Prom Queen 2012

Salut mes belles! Prom season is right around the corner, and today's look is a jump-off to my prom series fulfilling a special request for Elaina, who will be attending her prom this May! I will be doing lots of prom looks in the upcoming weeks, featuring different colors and styles of makeup and hair, and today's look is a classic take on the prom queen. I chose a purple / pink shimmery smokey eye and a big bun up-do to compliment Elaina's fuchsia dress and brown hair.

Bonjour mes amis! The day has finally arrived and today's post is all about perfecting that complexion and achieving flawless skin with Airbrush Makeup. You may have noticed that in my last few posts, I've been wearing custom airbrush foundation from Dinair* (which I've been testing out for a week) and today I bring you my official review! Nail Painting for Easter

Bonjour mes amis & Happy Easter!!! How many of you are attending a church service today? Are your Easter eggs painted and ready to be devoured after a 40-day fast? Did you know that the ancient tradition of painting eggs for Easter also coincided with fun folkloric games such as egg rolling, egg tapping and the egg hunt? Who knew religion was so fun and vibrant?! I sure didn't... but I'm definitely feeling the spirit and cheer of this colorful Christian holiday and I have the Easter Bunny to thank for my pastel fingertips!!
