The post was received so well by all of you--I got e-mails, texts, messages on facebook and twitter, not to mention all the comments from both guys and girls!! I was so thrilled and delighted to answer your questions and concerns that I decided to make a post to address the most frequently asked question: 'What are my favorite affordable makeup brands and products? Here's a very color coordinated preview pic, so go ahead and check out the rest of the post :)))

Kitty Kitty Clawz

Salut les filles :)

Desolée for my brief hiatus, it was a looong weekend of good stuff and I have pix coming :) Today's post is a quick nail look--courtesy of Sally Hansen nail stickers--which I'm sure you're all familiar with. I got them for my 4 year old sister simply because I think this product may be a safer alternative for kids than polish, plus there's no drying time, so she can't possibly mess them up. I just can't bear seeing my nail artwork go to he// after I spent a solid hour of putting my all into it lol... Soo, although I originally got them for my sis, I decided to open up the box and test the product. Testing, testing, 1 2 3... :)

Strictly Professional

Salut mes belles :))

Today's post is a request by Kat, who just landed her dream job at one of NYC's top law firms. This law firm (as well as most others) has very strict rules about the type of makeup women are allowed to wear and Kat wanted me to create a look within those parameters. Here they are:
  • NO color lipstick
  • NO color eyeshadows (only nudes and grays)
  • ONLY Black, brown or gray liner
Moreover, there's an even stricter dress code that doesn't even allow for high "clicking" heels. How many of you could work at a place like that? Let me add that starting salary is 6 figures :) So, I guess flats and gray liner it is... all day every day :))) Go Kat!!!

The look I prepared is not about frills, rather it's about clean lines and well accentuated features aka muted, neutral, and respectable.

Howdy!!

Hope you're all well and are enjoying our first day of summer!!! A lot of you have been asking me about my favorite skin-care, hair-care and cosmetic products. Given that I am obsessed with everything beauty-related, I kinda have a lot of favorites, however, the products that I treasure most are the ones that are also good on my wallet. So, to answer all your questions, I decided to do a post or a series of posts highlighting these products and focusing only on the ones we can all afford. Voila!

Today's post features my fave skin-care on the cheap plus some affordable teeth whitening options :) Here's a sneak peak:

small eyes BIGGER ʘ‿ʘ

Bonjour cheries!!!

Hope you're finding yourselves happy and healthy on this gloomy Monday! Sorry for my brief hiatus, I started a new summer schedule and had to implement some different time management strategies. It's all good, I'm back and I've got lots of cool beauty stories to share. I say "cool" because last week has been a sauna up in NYC, and I had to find new ways of wearing makeup while keeping it "cool" in the heat wave. I don't know about you, but as much as I love bright maquillage, there's just no room for it in the summer oven... it all just melts, runs, and leaves me feeling like a sad clown. Don't get me wrong, if I really need my makeup to stay, I'll spray some Fix + and off I go. However, I think you'll all agree that in the summer months, it is better to let our skin breathe instead of clogging the pores with fix sprays and such. So, how do we maximize our features and appearance while steering clear of heavy cosmetic products?

Let's focus on one (or two) features at a time. Today's post is dedicated to the eyes, and I'm going to share with you my makeup trick to creating the appearance of larger eyes without the help of eyeshadows. So, let's make our small eyes BIGGER ʘ‿ʘ yaaayyy!!!

My Rose Garden

Salut mes amis!!!

How do you like my rose garden? I grew (and drew) it myself :))) I've seen this design on a few different blogs over the past month or so and decided to give it a try as well, seeing how I couldn't possibly figure out a way to make that base green polish look cool by itself. I dotted on the "roses" using a peach and lavender nail polish, then detailed the shadows or "petals" with a red and purple nail polish, respectively. To make the detailing lines fine, I applied the polish with a toothpick and also used Sally Hansen nail art pen in black. The following two pix were taken with my iphone camera, under fluorescent lighting in the bus, so the colors are pretty true to life.

Brown Eye Brights

Salut mes belles!

Keeping with my summer brights makeup theme, my maquillage du jour is another bright eyed look focusing on bringing out the very popular--BROWN eyes. Since getting a new fringe, I've been trying to be careful not to let my hair take away from my eyes, as bangs often do, especially when one's eyes are small like mine. Using bright eyeshadow combinations is a great way to draw attention to the eyes making them bigger and brighter, and having bangs makes it easier to get away with more color--yay! Just another excuse for me to play with makeup :)

The Bananaberry

Salut mes amis!!!

Thank you so much for the love on my previous post, I'm so glad you all approve of my new bangs. Having said that, today's post is sans bangs, featuring a makeup look I wore last week, pre-haircut. I wanted to do something different from my usual purple and teal looks, and also wanted to keep the maquillage simple and wearable, in case any of you might want to try it. I used just two eyeshadow colors--yellow and pink for a cute look called Bananaberry (a name I just made up), paired it with a barely there lip and the rest is history!!!

Light-headed and banged up :)

Salut les filles :))

Hooray, I chopped it off!!! Wooo-hooo!!! And now I feel extremely light headed and fringed (I was gonna say bangin', but I wasn't feelin' the connotation)... Anyway, I got a small versatile bang a la Hillary Duff and Zooey Deschanel, and I love it because I can wear it up, down, and/or side swept...
