Fish Scales Nails

Joyeux les Week-End!!

As you can see, today's post is featuring my nail art of the week and this time it's a bit fishy. I wanted to do something with animal prints, but since most animal skins have been played out by everyone, I decided to go with fish scales. I haven't seen a lot of fishy nail art, so I thought I'd give it a go. It's kinda weird and abstract up close, but from far away it simply looks like a textured purple mani. Anyway, here it is: purple-y, scaly, sequin, festive, abstract, ombre, mermaid-ish, strange and exciting nail art of the week!!!

Nail Art: Ballet Fishnets

Salut mes amis!!

As some of you may know, I was the lucky winner of Yami's giveaway on her blog The Dark Side of Beauty. This week I received her package and was sooo thrilled to discover my prize: 8 beautifully packed nail polishes in total--7 tropical inspired polishes from Sinful Colors plus one gooorgeous color from OPI. I am dying to try all of them at once, so the next few of my nail posts will feature Yami's polishes.

Today, I created a simple nail art design using Easy Going from Sinful Colors as a base and Sally Hansen nail art pens in silver and black for the fishnets :)

Summer Solstice Nails

Salut mes amis!!!

As you can tell by my pic, today's quickie post is a weekly update on my nails. After nearly 2 weeks of wearing the awesome Sally Hansen Kitty Kitty nail strips, I got a little tired of prints and wanted to go with a solid color on my nails (though I couldn't resist decorating my pinky nail). To celebrate SuMmEr, my favorite season, I went with a bright, neon coral-orange color because it reminds me of summer fun on the beach. The nail polish I'm wearing is Quirius nail lacquer in Sunshine Energy and I absolutely love it on short squared nails and tan skin. I mean, they can see me wavin' from a mile away :)))

My Rose Garden

Salut mes amis!!!

How do you like my rose garden? I grew (and drew) it myself :))) I've seen this design on a few different blogs over the past month or so and decided to give it a try as well, seeing how I couldn't possibly figure out a way to make that base green polish look cool by itself. I dotted on the "roses" using a peach and lavender nail polish, then detailed the shadows or "petals" with a red and purple nail polish, respectively. To make the detailing lines fine, I applied the polish with a toothpick and also used Sally Hansen nail art pen in black. The following two pix were taken with my iphone camera, under fluorescent lighting in the bus, so the colors are pretty true to life.

Check out the rest of the pix!
