Hello my beauties! Today's post is the third installment to my Chloe Summer Beauty collab with Chloe Wine and this look is inspired by Chloe's rich, elegant and complex Red 249. This intense smokey eye and red lip combo is perfect for a summer night soirée and is designed to complement any LBD and soft wavy updo. I'm taking this look to an upscale Gala, where would you wear it to?

Chic Cool Makeup for Holiday Parties

Hey, hey beauties!! 'Tis the season for holiday parties, so I've come up with this chic work-appropriate look that can easily transition for the after-hour office shindig. I'm sticking to non-traditional Christmas colors for this one and opting for blue (I actually wore it to a Hanukkah party). Blue can be a bit intimidating to some people and not just for the office, but in general, however, it's actually quite flattering when sticking to matte eyeshadows. Read more to see what I mean :)

Greasy-Smokey-Grungy-Chic

Salut mes amis and happy Sunday :))

Today's post is a throw-back makeup look I did a few weeks ago for a grungy outing in NYC's lower east side. Since I'm not much of a grunge girl (i. e. doc martens, band t-shirt, etc.) I usually stick true to my own style and add a bit of emphasis with my maquillage... but you knew that already. Grungy makeup is all about that "heroin chic" expressed by dark, sunken eyes, pale lips and a slightly greasy disheveled overall appearance. Here's my version (up close & personal w/ the eye) of a grungy / greasy smokey eye makeup look :))

Smokey Eyed Ninja

Ni-hao everyone (^.^)

In today's makeup post, I'm featuring my go-to classic gray smokey eye. As we know, makeup is meant to enhance our features--not change them--and keeping this in mind, I want to show how the smokey eye can be flattering to asian eyes. I notice that a lot of asian girls use the smokey technique to hide or "conceal" their monolids, applying dark shadow all over and covering the natural cut that makes our eyes so distinct. Not only do I see this as unflattering, I strongly believe that ethnic features should be highlighted and emphasized rather than covered up and downplayed. Anyway, my rant for the day... on to the maquillage!
