"Caramela Chocolata" Como Sofia

Hola chicas :)) Without looking at the title, can you guess the Latina celebrity whose makeup style I'm imitating? Hint: this look was worn last week to the Emmy's, by a certain celeb who had a pretty funny and public wardrobe malfunction, posted on Twitter! Who could this modern mama be? LOL I'm terrible at keeping it subtle!!

In celebration of Hispanic heritage month (through Oct. 15) and my nail spread in Cosmo Latina, I'm honoring a few of my favorite Latinas and duping their makeup looks, with today's first: Sofia Vergara!

The Wedding Belles

Salut mes belles!!

Happy Wednesday and a BIG, happy "yipppeeeee" to my 500 followers :)) I'm very excited to reach this monumental figure and I'm thinking of ways to celebrate you all, so please stay tuned!!!

As the title of my post suggests, today's maquillage du jour is dedicated to bridal / wedding makeup, featuring the most beautiful bride I've yet to lay my eyes on: my dear friend Amelia. A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of doing the makeup for Amy and her bridal party, as well as attending the lovely ceremony and reception afterwards. The day was filled with so much love, joy and excitement--the most fun I've ever had at a wedding--that I just had to share this beautiful occasion with my readers.

Here's Amy, the main wedding belle in all her beauteous glory!!! <3
Isn't she STUNNING!!?

Sisterly Bridal

Salut mes amis :))

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of doing a bridal makeup trial on my beautiful friend Amelia and a couple of her gorgeous bridesmaids. I always get extremely excited when working on faces other than my own, so needless to say, I had a blast. Yes, I am a true makeup nerd and proud of it!!! Reason for this post--other than the obvious--is that I want to remember all the steps I took in creating Amy & her sister Lizzie's makeup looks and what better way than to blog it :))) Plus, just look at these two stunners, how can I not share this beauty with the world?!

Striking their signature sisterly pose: Amy--the bride to be (ironically in pink :) & Lizzie--the bridesmaid to be (in white :)

Yellow Never Mellow

Namaste and Aloha :)))

::bows::

As you know, I've been totally inspired by my bridal concept, so I've decided to imagine the kind of "bride" that I would be. By no means am I planning... I'm just brainstorming and having fun with it!! Since I'm a complete non-traditionalist and don't subscribe to the whole white wedding/white picket fence scenario, my special moment would incorporate the things that I do buy into. I love cultures, I love people, I love art and I love nature... My favorite color is yellow (pink is a close second), and since I can't choose a favorite culture (I love them all), I'm going to do a fusion inspiration: Hula girl meets Bollywood. Hope you all enjoy my newest creation aka my pseudo Bridal look :)

P. S. My awesome top is by Tracy Reese--her clothes are phenomenal!!!

Here comes the Bride...

Salut darlings!!

Today, I'm fulfilling a long awaited request from my bestie Larry aka Larissa, for a Bridal Makeup Look. This bride-to-be knows that I'm no expert at weddings, (nor do I claim to be) but she asked me to do a look that showcases what I think a "bride should look like". I searched the net for inspiration for about 5 minutes and decided to give up because the only inspiring wedding makeup I found was Bollywood makeup. Yes, I am biased. I love bold, bright colors and I tend to favor exotic definitions of female beauty... hence, I will never have a white wedding. On the other hand, Larry the traditionalist, will not be arriving on an elephant, so I'm going to present her with a couple of looks worthy of a classic modern bride. I hope you all enjoy them as well.

bisous,

Maryam Maquillage

P. S. Wedding talk makes me anxious hehe
