Grown-up Tones

Bonjour mes belles!!!

I'm super excited because I just passed a final proficiency exam and now there's nothing standing between me and my graduation!!! Woo-hooo!!! Secondly, I'm finally getting a much needed haircut later today and I'm already anticipating the lightheadedness. My tresses are desperate for a trim!!

My makeup this week has been very simple and quick, and since I'm still challenging myself to venture outside of my beloved Urban Decay palettes, it's forced me to try out new techniques and different color combos. Here's another easy ready-to-wear makeup look I wore yesterday to my exam... sorry for my jittery facial expression (^_^') this pic was taken before the exam.

Bejeweled, isn't it?

EYES: If you know me, you know I love purple on the lids... In this simple purple eye look, I used a chunky glitter eyeliner pencil from Hello Kitty in "Grape Soda". I like this liner for its color (shimmery purple with large silver glitters) and intensity, but I don't love it for its staying power. This product definitely needs a primer underneath--regardless of your skin type, though if you have very oily lids, steer clear of this eyeliner and try something more smudge/waterproof. I'm using a Sephora liner in Silver Green on my waterlines and this product is great. The color is a subtle blackened teal that looks amazing in the waterline and really makes any eye color pop. Try this one if you have green or blue eyes :))
LIPS: As you've probably noticed, I've been obsessing over Revlon lipsticks and this post is no different. In these pix, I'm wearing Revlon super lustrous lipstick in Temptress--my favorite color yet!!! This grown-up pink lip shade is perfect for any occasion and can easily progress from daytime to evening. I love the creamy texture and velvety finish of this lipstick--it's pure perfection. I really enjoy the classiness it adds to a simple up-do and and funky earrings (below) and the nonchalant, understated sophistication to everyday messy hair and jewel-tone makeup (above). I even got a compliment from a random guy in school yesterday--he said my lipstick color "looked great against my skin tone"... hehe. I've never gotten that pick-up line before, so I'm guessing he really did like it :/
My mirrored danglers are from India--they cost less than a dollar :)

Try this demure pink lipstick if you're sick and tired of teenage bubble gum pinks :)) Do you have the Temptress in you?

bisous,

  21. Hi Maryam,
I've been following you very recently and I love your creative looks. I just wanted to let you know that I found my pictures as well as many other bloggers on this person's facebook. I highly doubt that they were used with prior authorization since they never asked for mine. Your picture was there too. I don't know if that is something that would matter to you but I just wanted to let you know. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=569832643031876&set=pb.158378177510660.-2207520000.1358155467&type=3&src=http%3A%2F%2Fsphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-ash3%2F16037_569832643031876_1614049650_n.jpg&size=806%2C578
