My Go-To Classic

Joyeux Samedi mes amis :)))

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!! What are your plans for today? Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy it!!! In today's makeup post, I'm sharing with you my quick, go-to, no frills evening look--perfect for a Saturday day or night. This look is super easy to recreate and took me no longer than 15 minutes to complete. I've been getting a lot of requests for quick evening makeup looks, and this one never fails to deliver. My go-to classic is clean and polished, looks great in pictures, and always gets complimented. So, if you've got 15 minutes, this look can be yours too!! Read on and Happy Saturday :)))

PRODUCTS I USED

SKIN: Dewy and glowing
  • Laura Mercier mineral foundation primer
  • Bare Minerals matte mineral foundation in Golden Medium
  • Benefit High Beam luminescent complexion enhancer
  • MAC beauty powder blush in On A Mission
  • MAC mineralize blush in Moon River
  • MAC Fix Plus spray

EYES: Shimmery and sculpted
  • Benefit Erase Paste concealer in 03 (Dark)
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Urban Decay NAKED palette (e/s: Sin, Naked, Buck, Virgin)
  • Clinique brush-on cream liner in True Black
  • Andrea false lashes #45
  • Ultraflesh mascara in Blackout
  • NYX eye liner in Charcoal (brows)

LIPS: Naturally defined
  • NYX lip liner in Soft Brown
  • Ben Nye all purpose liner in White
  • Urban Decay eyeshadow in Sin (highlight)
HOW-TO achieve this look in 15 minutes flat :)
  1. Moisturize & PRIME: Apply your eyeshadow primer to your lids and your face primer to your t-zone (assuming you've already moisturized your face)--30 seconds
  2. SCULPT your eye with EYE SHADOWS: Using a fluffy dome brush and windshield wiper motions, apply your crease shadow (Naked + Buck) to the crease and outer corner of your lid. Wipe off the brush and apply your shimmery shadow (Sin) to the inner portion of the lid using swiping motions. Apply a dot of highlighter (Virgin) to the inner corner and high point under the brow. 3 minutes for both eyes.
  3. PREP your GLOW: Apply a few dots of liquid highlighter (High Beam) to the tops of your cheekbones and blend out the product with your finger. 30 seconds
  4. PERFECT your CANVAS: After 3+ minutes of applying eye shadows, your face primer has settled and your canvas is ready to be perfected. Apply your Mineral Foundation with a kabuki brush, using the Bare Minerals "Swirl, tap, and buff" method and conceal any imperfections using a concealer brush. Avoid the tops of your cheekbones where you applied your highlighter. 3 minutes
  5. CONTOUR & HIGHLIGHT: Contour your cheeks using a darker blush (On A Mission) and highlight the cheekbones using a shimmery blush (Moon River) 30 seconds
  6. DEFINE the EYE: Using a gel or cream liner, line your top lash line starting at the outer corner wing. I find it easier to line backwards when going for a dramatic cat eye. CONCEAL: Apply your under eye concealer. 2 minutes for both eyes is more than enough time.
  7. DEFINE the EYEBROWS: Fill in the sparse areas in your brows using a matching pencil liner (Charcoal) and brush them out using a spoolie. 30 seconds
  8. LASHES: apply 2 coats of mascara to top and bottom lashes--1 minute for both eyes. Optional: Apply your falsies--2 minutes
  9. DEFINE the LIPS: Moisturize your lips and line them with a neutral color (Soft Brown)--1 minute. Fill in the center of your mouth with a lighter color (White). Highlight the cupid's bow and center of bottom lip using a shimmery shadow (Sin) 1 minute. Spray 2 spritz of finishing spray (Fix +) and you're done!
TOTAL: 15 minutes (13 if you skipped the falsies)

  13. Oh this is gorgeous because even tho it's a quick makeup look, the cat flick eyeliner gives it some drama. I can't believe you managed that eyeliner look with a cream! Maybe I have a crap brush! Love your blog. Love your face! XxX!

  22. Great tutorial! My favourite part is what you did with your skin. Your skin looks fantastic and glowing, but it also doesn't look like you have a lot of makeup on and this is really hard to do! I love how well you explained how to perfect your skin in this tutorial as I don't know very much about these techniques.
