PastELLE

Salut les filles & les graçons :)

I've been a bad girl and I apologize for not posting and not getting back to some of you. It's been a he// of a week... but I'm back! The weather has been amazing and since I am a creature of my environment, I've been enjoying every single ray of light. In spring, I like to keep my makeup simple and my wardrobe more on the sunny side, so I tend to wear a lot of pastels and light colors. Since I've been super busy and haven't had a chance to buy anything new (plus I'm kinda broke, as always) I've been recycling and bringing back some of my old clothes. In doing so, I rediscovered a cute pastelly top that I got at Naf Naf in Paris 2-3 years ago and I've worn it twice in the past 2 weeks! I cinched it with a snake-skin belt from Banana Republic et voila--spring spirit perfectly captured :)
For my maquillage, I was inspired by the whimsy and airiness of the top, so I went for a shimmery light eye, with a gray-purple contouring of the socket. I tried the same effect on my lippies: pale pink in the center, then contoured with a light brown-nude.

Check out the rest

Here's where you can really see the purple and gray contouring. To create this eye look, start with a good primer. I've been using NYX's white base, and I have to say, I like it even better than the Urban Decay primer potion. Since the base is white and sticky, the shadows show up truer and they stay put forever or until you take them off at the end of the day. For $5, I can afford it even when I'm broke :)

On my lids, highlight and inner corner--Urban Decay Virgin shadow;

In the socket--UD Ransom shadow mixed with a matte gray from a Rimmel quad.

In the transition b/w the socket and brow--Urban Decay Naked shadow, as always. Naked is my go to transitional eyeshadow, but I also like to use MAC Texture.

I accented the makeup with half lashes by Ardell and lined half of the bottom waterline with a brown pencil. My eyebrows are bushy, but I don't care, I think they're my best feature haha :D

Grays and purples really play up brown eyes--that's why I can't stop wearing these shadows!!! Can't stop won't stop eh-eh! ha! (I promise I'll have other eyeshadow colors coming up next!!!)

Same top, different day in dirty Jerz
I think my shirt inspired the florist!

What inspires you?

bisous,

Maryam Maquillage
