Tropical Holidaze

Salut mes belles!!!

Continuing with my festive theme, today's makeup post is inspired by my nails of the week from my previous post. A few people (myself included) thought that my fishy scaly nails were reminiscent of the Missoni pattern, and since I've already done that one (see my original version), today's look is pseudo-Missoni, though just as fun ;)) My dress is actually Zara, my nails are actually scales, and my makeup is more-or-less tropical inspired. Whatever you take from this post is up to you, I'm just here to share another beauty idea for the holiday season! Hope you likey :)))


Who said bright colors are only for the summer?! FALSE!! Wear your brights proudly this winter, especially if you're in the chilly hemisphere :)) After all, wouldn't you much rather spend your holiday season in the tropics? I know I would, but since I'm not, I'm bringing the tropics to me with this fun, bird-chirpin' makeup look. Wear it as subtle or as dramatic as you like--mine is somewhere in the middle--perfect for those of you who like to be against the grain during the Xmas / Hanukkah / Kwanzaa season :)))

For this EYE LOOK, I used:
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Pure Gold (all over lid)
  • NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Purple Velvet (outer "V")
  • Zosimos Botanicals (review) loose eyeshadow in Lemonzest (all over lid on top of Pure Gold)
  • Urban Decay eyeshadow in Ransom (outer "V" on top of Purple Velvet)
  • Urban Decay eyeshadow in Fishnet (crease and lower lash line)
  • Urban Decay eyeshadow in Honey (inner corner)
  • Clinique brush-on cream liner in True Black
  • LA Splash mascara in Purple Splash (lower lashes)
  • L'Oreal Telescopic mascara in Blackest Black (top lashes)
  • Kiss lash accents in KPE40
  • DUO lash adhesive in dark tone

On my LIPS, I'm wearing Tarina Tarantino sparklicity gloss in Paiette. I love this lip gloss for its cool purple-blue-pink tint and super-duper sparkle. I think it's quite perfect for the winter holiday season :)))
